I’ll share a secret with you Ninna. I have opened this very door numerous times. They serve authentic Mexican food and I’ve never been disappointed nor left hungry. But real south of the border cuisine is a weakness of mine… I yield to temptation often. Aw well! ( or “asi es la vida!)

I love spicy food myself. With chili, curry, garlic, ginger, whatever. But not necessarilly hot! I want food to be balanced in taste and texture. Love food from Thailand, India and China especially, but also from other countries and regions. Can’t say I’m too fond of traditional swedish, though. At least not the courses I’ve experience from. Well. Some. Perhaps.

Ahhh… sounds to me like you are a connoisseur of culinary delights! I like my Mexican food to have a “bite” to it… but no so hot that my mouth burns for hours. We have an annual festival here called “Tucson Meet Yourself” where well over a hundred ethnic groups and clubs set up food booths. It’s amazing what you can find. It’s quite an experience.

I have never thought of me in that way! But maybe that’s true. HAHA! 😀
This town where I live in now and for the last ten years, is flooded with restaurants due to the fact it’s considered to be a “summer-city” / “tourist-city” on the wetcost. But it’s not particularly huge variety in what they offer. There are some Chinese and Thai, ofcourse; it recently opened an Indian; as far as I know only one “Raw-food” (fantastic that there is any at all); but mostly there there these with there “fine” food served at tables with white cloths. Not bad food per se, but… And there are some places that maybe can be called Deli’s.
As far as I now, there are no Mexican or any other ethnic ones. It’s boring and I hope I’m wrong here.
Where I lived before, there was a lot to choose from. Even arabic, persian, mexican, et cetera
That town was bigger, but not in the amount of people who lives there. As a city! As in versatility! As in not snobbish and small-minded.
I hope you get a grip of what I mean…
Suddenly I long for moving back there…

That’s the way it is here… a tourist city… especially in the winter when thousands of people migrate here from the northern states. We call them “snow birds”. There are restaurants for every conceivable taste… including one that I think is quite unique… their specialty is macaroni and cheese… many many varieties or you can make up your own recipe and they’ll create it for you. I was taught early to appreciate all types of food… and eat what was before me and be thankful I had food to eat. At home I try to be conscious of nutrition and calories and all that good stuff. But I usually eat out several times a week… and I love to explore new places.
I have lived in very small villages as well as large cities. While I enjoyed the charm of a small community… my preference is the larger city. More opportunities and versatility.

Hi! I’m sorry I’ve kept you on hold for too long. But – a secret – I’ve a life outside WP!
I only rarely eat out. For one thing – too expensive. For the second thing – I can’t eat all and anything. So to get food that is free from wheat, dairy-products, sugar and such – I prefer to cook my own. Then I can always get what I desire.

I forgot Pizza and Kebab, ofcourse there must be pizza and kebab. That’s old news. And there was an Italian restaurant. Wonder if that one still is “alive”

Oh yes… can’t forget the pizza! When I lived in Toronto, Ontario some college kids and I found a small quaint Italian restaurant owned and operated by a really nice guy from Italy (which is probably why it was called Italian ). He said he was born and raised in Italy but never heard of pizza until he moved to Australia. We used to go there often after night classes and have him make special creations for us. As for Kabobs… they are special too… especially around the outdoor barbecue. Hmmm… it’s approaching 6:00 AM here and I’m getting hungry for pizza! Better purify my thoughts and get on with my day…

Pizzas wouldn’t do that for me. Not for years and years. But a chia-chocolate-pudding with mango and strawberries… cinnamon waffles… a green fresh sallad… oven-roasted veggies… not all at the same time ofcourse. 😉

Mucho thanks. When I think about a title for my images a song title or lyric often comes to mind. I used an adaptation of the first line to that song for my post Monday… so with the second line today… I guess I’m due for the third line: “Turn away from me, darling I’m begging you to…” Hmmm… I gotta think about that one!
