A Cloud Does Not Know…

A cloud does not know
Why it moves in just such a direction
And at such a speed…
It feels an impulsion…
This is the place to go now.

But the sky knows the reasons
And the patterns behind all clouds
And you will know too
When you lift yourself high enough
To see beyond the horizon.

Killer Tree

This is the charred trunk of a massive Pondarosa Pine tree that had been tagged “killer tree” by the forest service and slated for immediate removal.  About 80% of the base of the tree had been destroyed by the Little Bear fire of June 2012 north of Ruidoso, New Mexico.  The 80 feet tall sentinel of the forest was in danger of imminent collapse.
