“Seeds of Contemplation”

December 30 2025

In a quest for normal day… a man sits engrossed in a health book at a local bookstore. Here is a sense of calm in an intellectual atmosphere… here is a quiet moment of contemplation in a casual and comfortable environment… here is the essence of normalcy. Photographed in Tucson Arizona USA.

“Twilight Guardian”

December 27 2025

Remake of some favorites from previous years.

Desert sun setting… Saguaro cactus rising… its arms reaching up and out almost as if in a gesture of quiet exultation to the day’s last light. Photographed in Tucson Arizona USA.

“Marrow Of Shadow”

December 4 2025

Vivid colors in the midst of sandy shadows. An artist’s trading card collage is placed against a sunlit break on a stucco wall. Here is the impact of powerful hues colliding with the organic and earthy qualities of the stucco background. Photographed in Tucson Arizona USA.

“Splendor In The Unexpected”

November 29 2025

An example of the richness that can be found in the exposed mineral deposits of the Sonoran Desert. Here is an intricate and textured surface with natural and earthy colors. It is raw… it is dynamic… it is “splendor in the unexpected”. Photographed at Saguaro Trails in Tucson Arizona USA.

“The World Through My Eyes… Darkly”

November 17 2025

A candid and informal close up portrait of a woman wearing large eye catching sunglasses. One cannot help but notice the compelling relationship between fashion and personality. The person’s neutral facial appearance shows a sense of quiet assurance while the bright glasses add a splash of style. Sunglasses are an essential part of life in the Arizona desert. In this photo… they become the focal point of the individual… bright and bold… yet contemplative and intimate.

“Fuchsia Fusion”

November 12 2025

A blending of explosive color from a solitary Fuchsia bloom. The potent arrangement of the petals is almost like fabric with the deep purple layers blending with the vivid red beneath. My intent was to create a powerful visual effect with a fusion of dramatic colors in a delicate structure. Photographed in Tucson Arizona.

“After The Fall”

November 3 2025

A mixed-media collage composed of a wide variety of textured and natural materials (palm bark, colored paper, cardboard, stones, paper mache pieces, yarn, medical tape, seed pods, and acrylic paint). The purpose was to create a piece that juxtaposes rough and earthy textures with smooth pebbles and dried vegetation… resulting in an organic sensory composition with a natural and earthy palette. Original size: 8” x 10”.

“Pumpkin Face’s Gleam On An Expectant Canvas”

October 29 2025

This time of year… pumpkin faces seem to show up everywhere! In this candid moment captured at Apple Annie’s Pumpkin Patch in Willcox Arizona… “Face Painting” takes on a new twist. An expectant canvas to be sure…

“Consigned To Oblivion”

October 2 2025

A meditation on impermanence and a forgotten life… a rough and weathered grave stone lies almost lost among the vibrant green grass and dry pine needles… nameless and unidentified. The inscription on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington “…known but to God” comes to mind as you view the quiet assertion of dignity for the forgotten individual this stone memorializes. There are no county or cemetery records to identify this person. Photograph taken at the Angus Cemetery in Lincoln County New Mexico.

“Sudetenese”

September 20 2025

A minimal collage of torn paper arranged on a photograph of textured and cooled molten metal. The composition is meant to create a balanced interaction of shapes and colors with a strong abstract and modernist aesthetic.
