Pretty colours, and lovely rough hewed wood.

Thank you Jude. Can you just imagine the day that Kit Carson stood back and admired his work? A brand new window set in the adobe mud. I’m sure his wife and kids were pleased with their new window. And then Mr Carson probably headed out of town again on his wild adventures. (Kit Carson is quite a frontier legend around these parts. Had you ever heard of him?)

Oh yes, I’ve heard of Kit Carson. I used to watch ever western going when I was a kid!

I’ve had a special interest in studying about Kit Carson because supposedly his wife was related somehow to my wife’s family… back there somehow. We’ve not been able to document it… but it does add some interest.
My favorite as a kid was Wild Bill Hickock. He even beat Roy Rogers and Hopalong Cassidy!

I used to watch Wagon Train, Rawhide, Laramie, Wells Fargo, and Bronco, to name but a few! ๐๐๐ Oops, nearly forgot Bonanza!

Yep… they don’t make ’em like they used to! Although if you look hard enough there is still some good programming available. I have two episodes left of the series “Home Fires” to watch… a British series set at the beginning of WWII. Different from Sky King and The Cisco Kid… but satisfying to my tastes at this point in my existence…

I’d love to have all my house windows look like that… one day! ๐

I guess the down-side is that windows like this don’t let much light in. On the other hand… just think of all the freedom you would have living behind closed shutters!
