      In my mind there are two basic criteria for something to be considered “art”. First it must be a sensory experience… usually visual or auditory. Then it must evoke some kind of mental or emotional response from the viewer or listener. Perhaps positive or negative… or neutral… but at least a response of some kind. I guess this display would qualify… although my “response” was much the same as yours.
